Jennifer Quintero

“Renewable energy is important to me because it indicates us moving forward from the fossil fuels which have caused so much damage to our environment. It is important to me because it will help reduce our emissions, it will reduce air pollution, and it will be more beneficial in the long run.”

Jennifer Quintero is a sophomore at FIU double majoring in Sustainability and the Environment and public administration. Jennifer also interns at the FIU Office of Sustainability as a Naturalist and is the Director of Sustainability for the Student Government Association. Although Jennifer attends FIU in Miami, she’s from Hialeah, Florida with family roots from Cuba and Panama. Jennifer chose FIU because of the unique identity and environmental issues surrounding the city of Miami.
